Diana Elizondo was born in Laredo, Texas, but spent most of her life in McAllen Texas. Her writing inspirations are Sylvia Plath, Robert Frost and Edgar Allen Poe. She earned her Master's degree in English at University of Texas Pan American and her M.F.A degree in Creative Writing at University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Her first book, Smoked Blood and Lavender, was released in 2017. Diana was also an adjunct English instructor for Texas A&M International University, Texas A&M University Kingsville and is now teaching for Texas Southmost College in Brownsville Texas.
