Grace Díaz

Grace Díaz is currently an educator and a parent who uses English and Spanish in both settings, often interchangeably.  Her book Cuenta Conmigo was inspired by her search for children’s literature and picture books to reflect the reality of her bicultural and bilingual household. Finding these books was challenging, so Grace decided to write the book she wanted for her own daughter.  She wanted a book that depicted a biracial, bicultural, and bilingual family in a normal household setting, all the while celebrating children’s ability to interchange between Spanish and English.  She used cultural inspiration and language from her own household and educational experience.
